I sketched out #mtg Loot in my style... I was speculating what it might look like a little older, or with different proportions. Puppy-ishly large hands and feet, rather than cartoonishly small ones!

I've heard the lore for this game is a cut content spiritual successor to Silicone Knights earlier game, Blood Omen, that let them play with a mythos of multiple Elder Gods. This was originally planned for the BO/ Soul Reaver sequels, but the multiple gods were cut down to just 1.

But does one even truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate and thus defy the tyrannous stars.

What MtG setting would you love to just teleport yourself to, just to experience in the flesh?

Mine would be on the bridge of the Weatherlight, in flight over Yavimaya, or the planes of Rath. I'd love to take in the ship's architecture of living wood and brass steampunk metalwork.

AI is, unfortunately, a fever that will have to burn itself out. It may be the case that, like cryptocurrency, elites are simply so invested in this technology that, despite its total lack of utility, they will keep trying to make it happen. Given how great a fit it is for them psychologically, I would say that this is more likely to happen than not. However, as we saw in those two brief weeks of last year’s US election campaign, the right wing psyche is incredibly fragile. For some reason, they are able to process any inversion of empirical reality, but are acutely sensitive to being laughed at. Calling them weird absolutely works, and telling them their sole artistic output looks like shit also works. Laughing at people who treat AI art as in any way legitimate works. Talking about AI’s environmental impact or its implications for the workforce will not work - they like that, it makes them feel dangerous. Instead of talking about taking money from artists, talk about how it makes them look cheap. If hurting and offending people is part of the point, then we can take that fun away from them by refusing to express hurt or offence, even if we feel it.

Just wrapped this illustration for a dear friend's big 40 (the one who taught me to play magic when we were both around 10). The golem and griffin have a lot of personal meaning for him, and it was an honor to work on something so sentimental!

Throwback Thursday! Back when All Will Be One came out, I felt like making an Elesh Norn-inspired Plains. It was a limited run, but it is one of my favorite crafted cards of all time!

Seems pretty strong. With the added benefit of tilting your younger opponents with the flavor text!

I designed this LotR style Command Tower as an experiment with this new orange foil I picked up, and to test how closely I could get the foil embossing to line up with the edges in my artwork. There were many failures that came before this, but it helped hammer out the process!
