Indeed. Stop being such needy, attention hungry little gits. Anyway, time to get back to writing my 80,000 word monograph, which I don’t expect any of you to read. Perhaps a PhD student will find it useful eventually.

They could be doing some smug book purist thing, i guess. Where apparently it isn’t people.

Jicama was a lovely revelation on my first self catering trip to LA. Had never heard of it before.

Tbf, Bo’ness food may be similarly simple. But we have some fancier stuff in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Europe (scowling): that is not a casserole.

Happy anniversary to one of Daffy Duck’s best shorts of the 1950s, β€œDuck Amuck”! Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese’s masterclass case study of self-aware humor and fourth wall breaking. It really shows how much you can do with the medium of animation. #LooneyTunes

The Scots have already addressed this by not using FPTP to elect MSPs. If we want to address the way our Westminster MPs are elected the fastest route may be independence. Because the English are weirdly attached to FPTP and will tie themselves in pretzels to swear it protects them from fascism.

I did Chicago to LA last July and it was amazing. I am in love with the observation car. Totally worth getting up to watch the sunrise.

That poster definitely does not brace you for the bathroom scene.

And the filmbros are going yo have to wait for Goodfellas for a version of Liotta’s amoral violence they can really revel in.

I think what puzzled me in the piece was the assertion that it was β€˜movie made, in its very DNA, to be a mainstream knockout.’ Because you are right, it doesn’t fit anywhere. It’s deliberately discomforting. It’s much grimmer than Desperately Seeking Susan’s caper.

Alternatively, come to Glasgow. Where you are very welcome to ride our (extremely cute) Subway. www.spt.co.uk/125/

I’m not sure Gleiberman watched the same film as me. This isn’t a pacy modern screwball waiting for permission from the Indy boom to be a hit. It’s a weird, sharp and pretty bloody unsettling journey through American whiteness.

β€˜We should say that there are fans are at Old Trafford who πŸ’― applaud what Radcliffe is saying’, BBC 5 Live presenter says after a semi critical comment from a guest.

Why β€˜should we say’ that some bigoted people agree with the bigoted rich man?

I love them both. Baxter certainly has great fun writing for his version of Marlene. Here is another of his US/UK film culture spoof mash ups. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbog...
