Indeed. Stop being such needy, attention hungry little gits. Anyway, time to get back to writing my 80,000 word monograph, which I donβt expect any of you to read. Perhaps a PhD student will find it useful eventually.

They could be doing some smug book purist thing, i guess. Where apparently it isnβt people.
Or they did..?
I still canβt get my head round one of the meal replacement companies calling it Soylent.
Jicama was a lovely revelation on my first self catering trip to LA. Had never heard of it before.
Tbf, Boβness food may be similarly simple. But we have some fancier stuff in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Europe (scowling): that is not a casserole.
May? Have pinged a suggestion.
But you will visit Glasgow often? No?
Hang on. Youβre moving to Wales?
Happy anniversary to one of Daffy Duckβs best shorts of the 1950s, βDuck Amuckβ! Chuck Jones and Michael Malteseβs masterclass case study of self-aware humor and fourth wall breaking. It really shows how much you can do with the medium of animation. #LooneyTunes
The Scots have already addressed this by not using FPTP to elect MSPs. If we want to address the way our Westminster MPs are elected the fastest route may be independence. Because the English are weirdly attached to FPTP and will tie themselves in pretzels to swear it protects them from fascism.
I REALLY want to come back and do the Empire Builder someday.
I did Chicago to LA last July and it was amazing. I am in love with the observation car. Totally worth getting up to watch the sunrise.

That poster definitely does not brace you for the bathroom scene.
And the filmbros are going yo have to wait for Goodfellas for a version of Liottaβs amoral violence they can really revel in.
I think what puzzled me in the piece was the assertion that it was βmovie made, in its very DNA, to be a mainstream knockout.β Because you are right, it doesnβt fit anywhere. Itβs deliberately discomforting. Itβs much grimmer than Desperately Seeking Susanβs caper.
Alternatively, come to Glasgow. Where you are very welcome to ride our (extremely cute) Subway. www.spt.co.uk/125/
Iβm not sure Gleiberman watched the same film as me. This isnβt a pacy modern screwball waiting for permission from the Indy boom to be a hit. Itβs a weird, sharp and pretty bloody unsettling journey through American whiteness.
I am particularly enjoying everyoneβs cats today. Thanks all.

A boy and his excellent cat.
This was a fun thread to wake up to.
Here too! Very exciting!
Ooo! Ruffalo as Columbo. Yes. Indeed, that is now the only acceptable reboot of that role.
βWe should say that there are fans are at Old Trafford who π― applaud what Radcliffe is sayingβ, BBC 5 Live presenter says after a semi critical comment from a guest.
Why βshould we sayβ that some bigoted people agree with the bigoted rich man?
Well done that sounds fabulous!
I love them both. Baxter certainly has great fun writing for his version of Marlene. Here is another of his US/UK film culture spoof mash ups. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbog...
Not that Dietrich had the r down either. This seems like a good moment to share this gem from the late Stanley Baxter m.youtube.com/watch?v=6J2q...
