In theory ๐
In theory ๐
I have, I moved to link 1 from 3 in January ๐
Somewhere I've not been for over 3yrs now. 66514 at Wentloog FLT having just arrived from Southampton, sitting next to a silent 66524 in the early hours. I'm spending the next 4 weeks route learning Southampton to Cardiff ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐๐
66505 behind Redbridge station propels it's train back towards Maritime, having just arrived with a service from Leeds.
Sadly it seems so. However, knowing Portsmouth, I don't think bendy buses would have suited the roads here.
The route is still 7/8 and branded The Star, but uses E200 MMC.
Unfortunately not. They had the B7RLE Eclipse Urban and they were used on the ZIP branded 40/41. They were then replaced by the Scania Omnicity, still branded as ZIP. The Scanias were then replaced by Streetlites and the service renumbered and rebranded 7/8 The Star.
66517 waiting for the signal to clear at Tyseley this morning as I near the halfway point of my shift.
And 66571 waits to be put onto my train and brake tested at Lawley Street terminal, to form my return working back to Eastleigh.
66522 waiting at a red signal at Acocks Green in the early hours this morning with a service to Leeds from Southampton Maritime.
I can't answer for what's happening with the buses, but you'll be seeing more bus photos from me ๐
I did when I went to bed at about 1530 yesterday ๐ basically still morning by that point ๐คฃ
My day consisted of booking on at 0140, work one from Eastleigh to Landor Street Jn, break and work one back to Eastleigh. ๐ฅฑ๐ซฉ same again tomorrow ๐
I liked driving them in service, although passengers who couldn't manage the steps weren't too impressed ๐ we'll have to see how things pan out from April ๐
I did. They were just out of shot to the right of the photo along the back. Would love to have another go in either them ๐
Agreed ๐ which is why I enjoyed getting back behind the wheel of this beast last month ๐ despite hating them when I drove them in service ๐ (to begin with)
A dwindling breed. Dennis Trident ALX400 18510 seen arriving outside Basingstoke railway station on service 12. I fondly remember driving these ๐
Another day in orange being a shunt driver. 66572 waiting to be brake tested before heading out on 4M55.
The humble container. What was essentially a nothing photo when I took it, but actually turned out better than expected.
Nevermind, turned around and there was another 45ft MOL ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ I've now seen 5 in just as many years ๐๐
Drew the short straw and I'm playing shunt driver at Maritime all day. Well if I'm in full orange gear then so should my loco! 66502 with the first move of the day. And just passing over the bridge is a 45ft MOL container, quite rare around these parts.
DB Cargo 66013 & 66102 are currently on loan to Freightliner Intermodal. Now I just need them to come down my way so I can red pen some red sheds ๐๐
Thank you ๐
Busy looking scenes at Southampton Maritime this morning. XC Voyager passes the terminal with a service from Bournemouth to Manchester. 66502 is shunting away its wagons after arriving from Manchester.
66510 waiting to depart from Maritime this morning with a service bound for Lawley Street terminal. With me as far as Eastleigh.
I got the headcode box from a preservation group that had it donated to them to use for parts as it was completely the wrong type they were after, and they weren't given any info about it. But the screen and piston in the foreground of the photo are from a 70 ๐
๐ sorry..... not sorry (payback for all those 70 brake down wise cracks of yours ๐)
To be fair, most SR units had their cabs in this colour. British Standard "Opaline Green" is the colour ๐
I could hipe is from a Thunper!! That would be great ๐๐ sadly there's no unit info on the back like there normally would be, so all I can do is guess ๐
The green is actually the colour of the cab, when they painted the back of the box and what you can see is the bleed through from that
I wouldn't rule that out! But I would guess 421/423/205 or 207
