awful to me that people now will see this and think "this is such good content," a cursed pathology. we used to want to make movies, but we didn't have actors or gear or money, so we made stuff like this. we were aiming for greatness! god we've lost our way.
that said, it's not pointing backwards at all. it's a visionary piece, stylistic and unique and brimming with storytelling expertise. can't wait to see what these two make next.
like, fuck man. this is exactly what i used to dream about making. everything on youtube back then used to be pointed towards this as the endgame, the type of thing you wish you could make one day. and everyone was trying to make something like this.
