Dark brown and red blood splatter to show off a snippet
Sasza dons the formal wear he is least likely to mourn.
The Fealty of Monsters

Scratched up glass upon a painting of a ball
Night falls shortly after. In what the days before the Solstice would be considered the early afternoon, aristocrats from across the Odonic Empire occupy the Palace like an infestation. Though he knows he should restrain his baser urges, he thinks of them as potential meals. There will be hundreds of pockets of fresh blood flitting past him. With each greeting and introduction, all Sasza knows is how he will drink in excessβand how feeding begets lust, and that lust begets more feeding. For his own conscience, itβs best he makes his way through the crowds of attendees like a specter, hyper aware of the meals flowing through the aristocracyβs veins.

Krakow town square behind scratched glass
The rumbling deep in his stomach comes and goes like ocean waves, part hunger, part nausea. He doesnβt want to waste the blood piled before him, like a dog sopping up its own sick. The bestiapir body requires far more blood than his wiry human frame. His stomach stays swollen like a man menstruating. Heβs afraid to find out how much more vomiting lies ahead of him.

There is something really wrong with people who need workers to be not just competent, but slavishly fake-happy. "Slavishly" used on purpose, bc that's where this grotesquerie comes from.

We need to talk about Russell Vought β But Properly
Why certain mainstream outlets insist on sanitizing Vought as a devout βsmall governmentβ conservative β and what actually animates his war against pluralistic democracy
Sunday reading:
I wrote about the aggrieved extremist who is currently firing thousands of federal workers and ravaging state capacity based on conspiratorial nonsense - and about mainstream mediaβs infuriating tendency to sanitize Russell Vought and the regime he serves.

Just so everyone is clear, the main issue in the Supreme Court voting rights case tomorrow is whether it's racist against white people to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

Watching all these centrist pundits stress the βcivilityβ of Charlie Kirkβs style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizensβ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.

Charlie Kirk
I won't quote-tweet our main character of the day, but if your complaint is that Charlie Kirk's words are being taken out of context, I'd encourage you to skim through the Media Matters tag for his name. They have hundreds of posts about Kirk and most have longer clips that give the full context.
