i know it's just advertisement but it still pisses me off when tech CEOs claim AGI will solve humanity's problems with its vast intelligence. for a lot of problems we already know the solutions, what prevents them being solved is not a lack of intelligence, but that the solutions are unprofitable
Iβm wondering what my AI ChatBot friends might give my child as a graduation gift. I bet theyβd be willing to lend me a hand to patch a hole in my drywall, too. And what kind of dish might they bring over when Iβm grieving the loss of a loved one? Truly an amazing future heβs envisioned.
Microsoft already did this years ago, but of course theyβll do it again. Itβs cyclic, really stupid, and communicates to your org leaders that you donβt trust them to do their job.
Why did you print it that direction? Itβs more fragile, wasted lots more filament, plus took probably 20x longer to print. Was it just for the joy of a more interesting Timelapse video?
He stopped dog whistling and just started whistling. Everyone can hear it now. Thatβs the only difference I can come up withβ¦
I just finished doing my taxes. How do I make sure this money is routed to the VA, and not SpaceX/Tesla/StarLink? Seriously, I pay a *lot* of taxes, and I'd like it all to pay for veteran's health care, instead of funding billionaire's BS...
Repost if you agree!
You can reduce your electricity bills by unplugging everything and turning all the lights off!

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights. The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other
"Canada would be a wonderful 51st state"
At the risk of arguing with idiots, Canada wouldn't just be one state, right? Alberta and Quebec would be different states, right? Does Felony President not realize that other countries have smaller geographic/governmental entities same as the US?
βIncrease the likelihoodβ? How do you increase from 100% absolute certainty?
So heβs celebrating that heβs as effective as The Bobs from Office Space. Yeah, okay. That tracks.
Watching Musk & Trump kill off things like *research funding*, the NIH, and the CFPB, I come to only one conclusion:
Welcome to the Chinese Century, courtesy of Billionaires, and the unhinged GOP.
Apple has always been about the *appearance* of caring about (whatever). Theyβll do whatever helps them looks good.
No reactions, only like/reposts. You just don't respond. (It kinda keeps the whole place a bit more civil, IMO)

Mediocre men have a centuries-old, well worn box of tools they use to prevent great women and minorities from being recognized as better than mediocre white men. DEI programs shined some light on those tools.
DEI programs in big tech companies never served to enable the hiring of mediocre women, people of color, or LGBTQIA+ folks. They made it just slightly easier to hire *great* LGBTQIA+, women, and people of color. Dismantling them is a win for the mediocre white/Asian male and no one else.

Working with the Trump administration: βWe now have an opportunity to have a productive partnership with the United States government and weβre going to take that. I think itβs the right thing to do because there are several areas, even if we donβt agree on everything, where we have common cause for things that are going to make it so that we can serve our community better and we can advance the interests of our country togetherβ¦ Weβre going to do those in a way that weβre not going to compromise any of our principles or values.β
The multibillionaire CEO of a company that just basically paid $25 million in protection money to the President who had threatened to throw him in prison, wants his staff to know that he can work with the President without compromising their "principles or values." www.theverge.com/command-line...
After ten years of dog whistles, the press continues to give everyone on the right the benefit of the dog whistling disbelief. Elon is a Nazi. Full stop.
And the rest of the world says;
Surviving measles *resets your immune system*! All the rest of the diseases youβve built up immunity to? That immunity is gone. So enjoy getting sick over and over and over and over again. Get the vaccine. The cure is much better than the disease. RFK Jr. can eat a rotting pile of roadkill.
Mr. Zuckerberg was amenable. He signaled to Mr. Miller and his colleagues, including other senior Trump advisers, that he would do nothing to obstruct the Trump agenda, according to three people with knowledge of the meeting, who asked for anonymity to discuss a private conversation. Mr. Zuckerberg said he would instead focus solely on building tech products. Mr. Zuckerberg blamed his former chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, for Facebookβs culture, according to one of the people with knowledge of the meeting. He said new guidelines and a series of layoffs amounted to a reset and that more changes were coming.

1st, itβs always been called that. If youβre firing 5% of your workforce as βpoor performersβ after you laid off 25% of the company in the previous 2 years, youβre a shit leader with shit recruiting. Zuck is a _terrible_ leader and CEO.
