Angelus and Alisaie, leaning close together

Angelus and Alisaie are much more initially passionate than Yonah and Alphinaud. Where her brother featured a slow burn into a comfortable relationship, Alisaie met Angelus and found herself in a whirlwind romance pretty immediately. Both Alisaie and Angelus are very forward individuals that don't enjoy mincing their words when it comes to their feelings. This lead to a very enamoured honeymoon phase, where they were practically glued to each others hips for a time. They spent nearly every waking moment together for nearly the first two moons of their relationship. Through that, they learned quite a lot about each other, and learned that outside of physical attraction, they were actually compatible on a deeper level. Once their honeymoon phase fizzled out and they were able to exist separately again, they spent their time figuring out what the right ratio of quality time to alone time was. They also got more in depth on what they expected and desired from a romantic relationship.

They both agreed that they wanted commitment, but not in the same way Alisaie's brother had. Neither Angelus nor Alisaie held much value in an actual Eternal Bond, as their bond should be able to speak for itself. They also didn't have any firm desire to buy an estate together, happy to spend the primary chunk of their time staying with friends or with inns, though Angelus did buy an apartment in Ishgard, enjoying the cooler climate. Alisaie was quickly added as a tenant, and they spend a fair amount of time there. They're content with this little space and have no plans to expand. Angelus and Alisaie both desired a small family, and were more than content adopting a child. Their future together took a surprising turn, giving Alisaie and Angelus a biological son together, courtesy of Alphinaud, who was happy to offer a donation towards a medical procedure to allow Angelus to conceive herself. This resulted in the birth of Mikhail, who was an incredibly welcome addition to their little family. Their personal moral compass is somewhat different, but not in any way that clashes. Alisaie has a very firm set of ideals that lead her to also have a strong sense of justice. Angelus is more content taking a backseat when it comes to high stakes situations, opting to join the fray if additional healing magicks become necessary. Alisaie has loosened her stance a bit, by giving Angelus a PERSON she wants to protect.

Alisaie is somewhat more reckless than Angelus is, but is still a tactician in her own right. She's quicker to jump into combat than her brother, but she does take a moment to assess the risks and whether or not it's a fight she can win. Angelus, being exclusively a conjurer, isn't on the front lines anyways, and by default takes a lot fewer risks than Alisaie for this reason. Their relationship is very much a passionate whirlwind that wound up leading into a deeper understanding of each other as individuals. They're the direct opposite of Yonah and Alphinaud, who were a slow burn from a long-term friendship, but also embody the other end of the spectrum of a healthy, loving relationship. They understand personal boundaries, and value their time alone as well as their time with one another. They're both independent, but also keep each other very close in their hearts.

On the other end of the dynamic is Alisaie & Angelus, the whirlwind romance.

With them having met after Endwalker, their dynamic was very fresh when they began dating, but, much like her brother, Alisaie is with someone she wants to stay with longterm.

Yonah and Alphinaud represent a very honest, vulnerable, open sort of relationship. They both have very strict moral compasses that drive them, and are fortunate enough to have those ideals primarily overlap. They both have a very strong sense of justice and wish to bring a safe comfort to the people of Eorzea and eventually, the lands beyond. Both find joy in seeing the happiness in others, and will do all they can to ensure they can preserve that happiness. Yonah and Alphinaud also both hold high value in their personal relationships. Though both began their journeys not really finding the reason to pursue friendships, they quickly realised that the strength they have with others I much greater than the sum of its parts. Both have a close knit group of friends that they would give anything to protect. Alongside their personal beliefs, they also had similar goals when it came to romance: They wanted one partner to love with their whole heart that loved them back just as wholly, they both held high importance to the idea of an Eternal Bond, a commitment acknowledged by The Twelve, and both wanted a place to call home, even while remaining on the road most of the time. Both had the desire to start a family, and were open and honest with one another about this. They very much wanted the sort of families that they felt they lacked when they were younger, namely, both having workaholic, primarily absent fathers and somewhat of a disconnect from their family that led them both to want to be very involved in their future children's lives.

Yonah is reckless compared to Alphinaud, and is more willing to run in headfirst without a plan if there's any sort of urgency to the tasks, which has caused a few breaks in communication that's led to minor spats and arguments early in their relationship. Alphinaud felt Yonah would rush into things and wind up hurt, and more than once had to bail her out of situations she rushed into that ended up being more than she could handle alone. Alphinaud is very much the tactician of the two of them, opting to lay out his ideas in full before marching into action. This, again, led to a few disagreements early on, with Yonah feeling Alphinaud had no sense of urgency during high stress situations, where Alphinaud was just trying to progress safely, without putting lives in jeopardy. Over their years together they found ways to compromise on this. Yonah verbalizing her ideas in less urgent scenarios before rushing in headfirst to give Alphinaud a moment to come up with a more cohesive plan. Yonah verbalizing her intentions during higher-stress situations also gives him an idea of how to work in a way that complements Yonah's actions. This has worked to their benefit in both their relationship in their mundane, day-to-day lives and on the field. Their communication strengthened significantly once they made this minor change.

They have a comfortable, supportive dynamic that allows them to be true to themselves in both the good times and bad, knowing that the other will be there for them when they need it. Yonah's love language is a mix of gift giving and physical touch, whereas Alphinaud's is a mix of acts of service and words of affirmation. Others around them find them overly sappy at times, but can overlook it seeing how happy they make one another. When they aren't able to spend quality time together, or even travel together, they both ensure they set aside time to spend calling the other. Linkpearl calls are a near daily ritual of theirs when they find themselves on opposite ends of the star. All in all, their relationship is both inwardly and outwardly healthy, with the two of them finding a good balance of time together and time apart. Yonah is somewhat codependent, but is able to function on her own, whereas Alphinaud is very independent but is also very thoughtful when it comes to Yonah.

I decided to take some time to write down the core dynamics for the main two ships I feature on this account.

I wound up fixing a problem my PC encountered at like 6 this morning after a night of no sleep, though, turns out Twen's Flu Brain is good for something!

I somehow ended up 500x sicker in the past 12 hours, so my Wolisaie stuff might not come out until next week when I have less Severe Flu Brain

I've slept 3 hours in the last 3 days, I'm too ill to sleep. The fact I'm functioning is astounding.

Fortunately, Alisaie (cat) won't leave my side lmao

Dot tattoo

Yonah has a small dot tattoo on her right leg right by her ankle. She got it during A Realm Reborn to track the progression of a disease she has.

She's never spoken about it, and many people just think it's a birth mark.
