There we go. Draft and develop for the Bears. They finally have a coaching staff that can do the develop part.

excited to see Jared Wilson at Center and I like the potential long-term battery he can form with Maye.
Bears obviously have a hole at Center, Bradbury is *wavers hand* but at least he’s insulated with Thuney-Jackson. Now the Bears have a short-term answer and it keeps more offseason paths open.
Field Yates: The Garrett Bradbury trade to Chicago reunites him with his college teammate at NC State in Joe Thuney.
They were roommates when the team traveled for away games.
Just heard that as well. I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have that history in the o-line room, helping develop the younger guys as well.
Graded 30th best C by PFF. Vikings cut him last offseason I think mostly due to performance.
My first thought was they must be planning to target C in the draft, based on the premium Ben places on the O-line. If that's their plan and they wanted a vet stopgap, Bradbury is fine as a spot-starter.
Via Ian Rapoport, the pick going to New England is the 2027 5th-rounder. Bears just traded their 2026 5th-round pick yesterday in the DJ Moore trade.
Based on Over The Cap's numbers, I believe Bradbury will cost 5.7M towards Bears' salary cap, unless anything with his contract changes. It's the last year of his deal.
Just a hunch, but this could be part 1 of the sign a vet, draft a rookie strategy. Brugler has 8 centers in his top 125 prospects.
Trade! The Chicago Bears are trading for Patriots center Garrett Bradbury, per sources. New England receives a fifth-round pick in return.
Chicago, who lost Drew Dalman to retirement earlier this week, picks up a veteran with NFC North experience.
Bears PR: A leader on and off the field. Thank you for everything, Tremaine
Lions LT Taylor Decker, the team’s longest-tenured player, announced he requested and received his release after contract talks broke down.
Jonathan Jones of CBS says the “top 3” teams monitoring the Maxx Crosby situation are the Bears, Cowboys, and Ravens.
Says nothing is imminent, and thinks the price ultimately will be a first rounder plus an additional asset less than another first.
Maxx Crosby is drawing serious interest around the league. The Dallas Cowboys are closely monitoring the situation and remain very interested, while the Baltimore Ravens are also a team to watch. GMs believe the Las Vegas Raiders are willing to work on a deal.
Rap: C Tyler Biadasz to sign a 3-year, $30M deal with the Chargers.

They cleared that much but were over to start with, so roughly 33M in space. And yeah, they still need some more space IMO. Two Oline starters are going to be expensive if they're going to get vets.
Per Over The Cap, Bears have ~$33 million in cap space after Drew Dalman's retirement, trading DJ Moore, and releasing Tremaine Edmunds. That's around 12th most in the league.
Field Yates: Between the trade of DJ Moore, release of Tremaine Edmunds and retirement of Drew Dalman, the Bears have about $44M in new cap space as of this week.
Be it addressing C or fortifying the defense, Chicago has spending power.
Cronin: The Bears create $15 million in cap space with the release of Tremaine Edmunds, who they granted permission to last Wednesday to seek a trade.
Schefter: Bears are releasing former Pro-Bowl LB Tremaine Edmunds, per sources. Edmunds has been a full-time starter in each of his eight NFL seasons, and he now will become a free agent with 900 tackles on his resume.

DJ’s goodbye message to Chicago
Jahdae Walker posted this picture on his Instagram with an included text exchange between him and DJ
Schefter on ESPN 1000: “I’d be surprised if Maxx Crosby wound up in Chicago… Of all the places out there, I don’t think the Bears are the leading candidate there. Doesn’t mean they can’t get it done.”
Shocker of the day
It is posted publicly on X for what it’s worth. Not sure all the rules behind printing something at CVS or wherever for personal use: x.com/ashlee_rezin...
Trey Wingo: Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson
Daniel Jeremiah: I see the sweet spot in this draft between 50-75. There are going to be a bunch of solid starters in that range. The edge rusher, CB or WR you get at 75 will be graded almost identically to the one you’d get at 45.
