Much prefer the DF method of, it's the fort that matters not making absolutely certain your 3 citizens don't die.

It's a fun game and all that, but every game goes about the same for me. I have 1 person die and because getting anyone new takes forever, the game slows to a crawl and eventually I just stop caring.

I really wish DF worked better on deck. Rim world, as good as it runs, just doesn't enthuse me with the incredible small population counts. Keep trying, but never hooks me.

Got a good rim world fort going, now I just need some settlers to appear.

You may look at a problem and think "Aha! The solution is to run my own email server." Now you have two problems, Google is marking all of your email as spam, an unknown number of threat actors using your server to spread malware because you forgot to patch something, and a small pile of subpoenas.
