reminder that a small handful of Republicans in the House and Senate could end this madness today
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Stay free
Really proud of what you've done so far. Never retreat! We have your back!
OF THE EMPIRE We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.
Ever relevant, this poem by Mary Oliver, especially today.
Maybe? It's not clear to me having streets where everyone speeds is better than raising the speed limit. I suppose it depends on how people drive under the higher speed limit. Do they continue to speed?
I wonder if one of the consequences of having a lot of autonomous vehicles on the road might be a rewriting of traffic laws. Right now we tolerate streets with 25 mph speed limits because everyone goes 40 anyway. With AVs "enforcing" those limits there might be an outcry to adjust them
"It's Biden's fault" -- evergreen NYT article
Although I imagine most teams have a pretty good record when they limit their opponent to 33% from three.
I've wondered about this as well!
I do love the style of that!
Thanks, that worked a treat!
@barttorvik.bsky.social I've been using your rankings in my basketball predictor for some time, pulling them from the Time Machine. This year I'm getting stopped by the "Verifying browser" check. Is there an approved way around that? Or some better way to get all the team rankings on a given day?
Embarrassed tonight to be a Virginian. @kaine.senate.gov
Your craven cowardice makes me embarrassed to be a Virginian.
That's right, it's to avoid the fire hazard. But even though the filter is in the "clean" air it's not recommended. Some people build filters using surplus furnace fans (which are non-sparking), which you might be able to find cheaply.
Note that air filter systems for woodworking are built to prevent sparking. You shouldn't generally use a generic air filter in a woodworking shop.
This deserves more love.
Sorry to hear you had a rough one, Mike. Hopefully today will be better!

Amen, brother. Windows search menu is a major criminal in this way.
14th century vases from Iran, the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.
Did you generate that manually? It's very nice! I've got to get around to playing White Castle.
Not for nothing, but get a random orbital sander, not a palm sander.
Springcrafting, no doubt.
It's that time again. #MarchMadness #UCLA
You coward.
You coward.
