How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
It's perfectly fine to panic post. To freak out. To be worried. All of that. We have to feel what we need to feel too!
I keep living my life and try not to allow the outside world or anyone to stress me out.
I stay informed, I see what is happening but I can only control what I can control in my little piece of the world.

I think there’s something fundamentally broken in the U.S., in how much people hate each other and celebrate pain and death.

Oh that first PhD was in Psychology. I just stopped caring about it and well, this one is right 😊
And you realize you don’t need a room to applaud you. Maybe just a nice laugh to yourself to remind yourself that you do this, life, your work, for you. No one else.
That’s when you know the work matters.
And it’s insane to think that much time has passed since he died and I started over and now I have to prepare for comprehensive exams soon!?
Sometimes you keep your head down and shut out the world and work and work and work, and then you look up and see how far you’ve come.
