I was worried about that. It was suppose to represent the two sisters in the story. The pitch isn’t quite right yet…just practicing for when I start to query it properly next month…
Yep, I try to read a bit of everything. I have been writing a MG all last year, so reading was weighted towards that… I had been meaning to read Dune for ages though, so that had to sneak in there 🤗
Oh, that’s a difficult one… I think maybe GODKILLER (Northern Lights was a reread). The balancing of the multiple POV’s Hannah Kaner achieves is impressive and the story is original and awesome. Greenwild probably a close second, as that is just magical…

This is what a year’s worth of reading looks like for me. I have no idea how some read this almost monthly! It’s the most I’ve read in a year since uni (20 yrs ago!)
As I enter the @prize_novel for the 2nd year in a row with the same two books, I reflect on the year.
Cons: I queried both books way too early and burnt through some great agents 😞
Pros: both books are in such a great place now and it forced me to learn so much! Bring on 2025!
Love this book! All Discworld is great, but this is right at the top of the pile…

Started editing the 1st book I wrote 4 years ago. Have learnt so much about writing since then. I’ve deleted 7 full pages of telling/info dumping… I’m on chapter 4! 🙈
Only joined Bluesky a few days ago but must say so far I’m impressed. I still love my writing community on X. Every other SM channel seems way worse for random ads and comments. Early days, but so far, mainly writers on here 🤗.
