I would ballpark that somewhere around a third of games go into overtime, but that's a bit of a guess and I might be overestimating just because my beloved Ottawa Charge spend so much time in overtime.

FWIW, the regular season overtime format is 5 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey followed by a shootout.

Wins in regulation, wins in overtime, losses in overtime, losses in regulation.

The PWHL uses a 3-2-1 points system, so you get 3 for the regulation win, but if it goes to overtime points are split 2 for the eventual winner, 1 for the loser.

LOL, this dude was a jerk and then limited replies so no one else could point out that he was being a jerk.

Also, I started watching hockey before anyone on Team USA was even born and gave up watching boy hockey before most of them were born. I'm not new, I just don't like gatekeeping.

I can actually, because I care about the players who are front and center in my fandom experience more than the owners. I can also watch the PWHL even though Britta Curl is in it.

Also, shootouts are fun and being a dick to new fans is not a good vibe.

As i understand it, the LTIR for the PWHL is retroactive to the end of the last game played in the PWHL, so she may already be eligible to come off the LTIR even though she has just been put on it. So it might be just a short absence but putting her on the list lets them sign a reserve.
