For what it’s worth I saw Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday projected and didn’t like that either. I think the humour is the disconnect. There’s only so much small details can add to it. Maybe Trafic is incredible. 🤷‍♂️

I should at least give it a rewatch projected. Had a smaller TV last time I tried. I’ll go through that box in order one day but it’s not an immediate priority.

I find Jacques Tati powerfully unfunny and extremely dull. I have half a star on PlayTime, one of the most beloved films of all time.

No favourite so far, but I bought the blu ray boxset to look for one. I want to be wrong!

I’m also pretty down on Miguel Gomes. Again, I keep trying.

I haven’t watched his tv series but I’m otherwise up to date. I wasn’t too hot on Donovan but I do think people seriously undervalued It’s Only the End of the Word.

The King of Pigs is the only time I’ve stormed out of a theatre at the end literally shouting about how mad it had made me. Walked past the director heading up front to do a Q+A while I was ranting about it. I have liked some of his other films.

If it’s one of the top 30 Hitchcocks it’s still one of the best movies ever made.

I’ve had conversations like this with my dad a couple of times when he’s asked “was it worth going to?” The joy for me is in the act of going to see a movie. “Worth” doesn’t even come into it. If the movie is great, that’s a nice bonus. (Saw my 2000th cinema movie this week.)

Is anyone aware of a session of Bi Gan’s Resurrection playing anywhere in Sydney on Saturday the 14th of Feb? I’m in town for a day and I’d love to see it.

I mean, one of them is this Markiplier horror movie my nephew wants to see. But one of them is The Secret Agent! (Raimi and Addition the others) The kid loved Marty Supreme last week. We’re gonna finish the BP slate together.

Made a plan for this weekend and somehow ended up with a plan to see four movies in four different cinemas.

Addition opened today and it’s the one I’m considering seeing to send the place out. For whatever idiot reason Melania opened in every single cinema on the whole Mid-North Coast. I can pick about five cinemas to not watch it in. Delusional super-wide release.

The last movie they’re ever getting is going to sell zero tickets.

Yep. I learned this recently and deleted like… fifteen of their songs out of my Rock Band library immediately.

I wouldn’t get too excited about Bovino out if Homan is in. That man is the Devil.

Okay, but 0.2 hours is 12 minutes.

I would pay $40m to avoid watching this movie.

Sounds like I’m going to keep skipping it!

(Very) sad to see It Was Just an Accident miss in Picture, but one of my favourites was always going to. Otherwise pretty happy. Congrats to Sinners for the all-time record of 16 nominations. Honestly, fair.
