A POEM FOR FRANK O'HARA by Jon Cone
I stand with Yasmin Williams. I know the fascists running are government are malicious, cruel people. But something about this story hurts so, so much. To organize a claque against an artist you are presenting?!? An artist who kept her commitment to perform when others didn't? I am so sad.

Lisa Kudrow nailed it! This was the best
Republican impersonation I have ever seen, I was even getting upset thinking this was real. Love it!
When I was a buyer at a large indie, my rule of thumb was:
1 preorder: huh, let me take a closer look at this one
2 preorders: we need to stock this book
3 preorders: we should order enough to face this out
4+ preorders: this should be on front-of-store display
I love this. ❤️ Thank you.
I've been quietly following your book recs, @shurwitt.bsky.social Thanks for posting them. #booksky
I can relate to this. They have some clever ways of saying Roll Tide or War Eagle as well.
Human creativity is one of the few things you can't get just by having a rich father. That's why the AI bros hate it so much.
I feel the same way. I wish the storm chasing community would come here. I get a lot of information during tornado outbreaks from them. Plus, the science is interesting.

I don't ever want to stop seeing the humanity in others.
After Dad retired, he wrote a complaint letter to Frito-Lay because there was too much grease at the bottom of the bag. He complained or complimented *everything* all day long.
"When Thomas made her debut in Hollywood, she was a student at UCLA and wanted to focus on writing and directing, but she quickly learned it was “rough” for women."
It's a small note at the end of the story. I hope she talks more about her experiences with that.
A drawing of a black cat watching rain fall outside. The caption reads, "you're not wasting a day by resting you're enabling yourself to feel better tomorrow"

Update: I'm now being treated for walking pneumonia. The medication I received this morning should clear it up. I'm looking forward to feeling better soon.
Hanceville funeral home sign that says respect the polygon. It is telling people to take tornado warnings seriously.

In an extraordinary display of public support, heads of state, heads of government, and foreign ministers from all over Europe and Canada are posting in support of Ukraine in response to the Oval Office meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy, and Vance.
Thank you. So far, so good. I'm still symptomatic, but I can sit upright now. I'm glad you recovered. I hope you didn't have any lasting effects.
So if anyone responds with some weird anti-vax nonsense, I will block you. Vaccines save lives. Look at the measles outbreak in Texas and now, possibly Kentucky. I don't normally talk politics because of where I live at the moment, but vaccines save lives!
Also, I have asthma. Yes, I got Covid even though I'm vaxxed. For me, it would've been far worse, I believe. And honestly, I don't know how people have this multiple times. I mean, it was *awful*
So I tell you all of this to say: 1) Covid is still very much around. 2) The strain I had went much faster than I thought it would. 3) I'm glad I was vaccinated (sorry, anti-vaxxers), 4) If you are sick, please wear a mask or stay home. 5) If you test neg. and are sick, wait 48 and test again.
Doctor said Omicron was going around town. My fever broke this morning, and I'm exhausted. And it's only NOW that I'm testing positive.
