Thanks for this. Splitting German history into black and white, all or none thinking seems to be a corollary to Godwin’s Law. You say “don’t ask” about Nelson’s research, but I must. Certainly he presents only part of a complex history; are you asserting he’s wrong, or just leaving out the positive?
I just recently learned about why the Venezuelan mission really got shut down.
Definitely an interesting read if you have the time. The level of fraud in another country that the church committed is insane and likely where trafficking allegations come from.

I’ve been tracking the church’s involvement in the right wing conservative movement for years. The conservative judges, the overturning of Roe, the anti gay and trans legislation, book banning, Heritage Foundation and Project 2025? Oh, don’t worry. You can find Mormon fingerprints on all of them.
