If you combine these facts you start to understand how beef causes by far the emissions in the food system.

Every minute, 23 football fields of forest are lost. Almost all of it is rainforest and the main cause is consumption of meat: beef as you can see in the infographic. And a large part of that 'soy and palm oil' block is also for meat because pretty much all deforestation soy is used as animal feed.
