On a lighter note, I’ve coined a new title for myself: a lobbyist for lobbying! 😅✌️

To me it’s clear: the best way to predict the future is to actively participate in shaping it, rather than just picking up weak signals and trying to analyse them.

What about your organisation? Do you prefer to be reactive or proactive when it comes to influencing your operating environment?

It’s a critical question. Isn’t leaving the future of market developments, like regulatory changes, in the hands of others (e.g., competitors) a much bigger risk than allocating more resources to public affairs?

One student (or well, participant. They were all solid professionals there) raised an especially insightful point: “Why are #lobbying, influencer communications, and #publicaffairs often the last items on the to-do lists and budgets of even large organisations—particularly in Finland?”
