I just finished this indie Irish game and was blown away by the gameplay and Agatha Christie style storytelling. Also never thought Iβd see colonialism and Magdalene Laundries addressed in a game. Wonderful!
Iβm launching a new podcast today called The Carrying Stream, a space for long-form conversations about Scottish culture, literature, and ideas. ποΈ
The first three episodes are now live (link below).
If youβre curious, youβre very welcome to follow along.
On MONDAY, friends! It's VICTORIAN MURDER CLUB, at 9pm on BBC Two!
At this point I forget all the early starts and freezing locations. But I don't forget the magnificent people behind the scenes who make it all possible. If you appreciate them as much as I do, do let them know in the comments!
Out now - a special Irish Pages on Scotland. Why Irish? Why have we no such journal of our own? 10 years since the referendum, we take stock. Cultural memory and (thanks be) new poets. irishpages.org/product/vol-...

The DL team are the loveliest humans and theyβre launching a bookshop residency now that theyβve moved to a bigger and better venue! Super prize β¨
All I want is a seaside cottage, the rumble of thunder in the distance, an Agatha Christie novel, an emotional support owl, a crackling fire, a whistling kettle on the stove, and a healthy supply of freshly-baked scones.

Back in September, in an event with us and @legroff.bsky.social, Colm Toibin talked about how this was happening in Ireland. Looks like it has moved to the UK too. It's IMPERATIVE that this be condemned and resisted.
