A short hop over to a court tomb in Gortnanoul and then ending the trip visiting Clogh Oughter Castle! Thanks to all who participated and many thanks to our local guides Martina and Brendan for their insight!
First stop of day 2 takes us to Drumlane Abbey and Round Tower, which was established in the 6th Century!
Our next stop takes us to the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark, where we discuss a wedge tomb located within the park!
After a quick lunch stop, we headed to White Fathers Cave!
Up next, is the Gortalughany Viewpoint, where the views include ribbed moraines!
Next stop, just a hop down the road to Tullydermot Falls to discuss the relationship between the karstic landscape and the impact of water on that environment.
Field Trip Time! County Cavan! First stop is a discussion of geological features, including karstic landscapes, with a discussion led by Jasper Knight.
