i do think there is some merit in learning how to take action in light of awful news but that very much does not include letting the tsunami of doomscrolling and clickbait and unreliable sources crash into you full force, much less never allowing yourself to have (extended) time away from it
like...yeah ideally keeping up to date would not be a horror show but given the way social media and news sites operate in the year 2026 where rage and despair are what makes the most money, is it really any surprise people are spiraling and need a break? especially if they are personally affected?

listen i love ao3 as much as the next guy but ive seen people quit fic writing over the past few years because people comment and engage with authors way less, and then everyone still freaks out when ao3 goes down- if a fic is irreplaceable to u, let the author know!
i try not to be weird abt correcting typos bc it really does not matter most of the time but maybe the person making them should correct them when it results in miscommunication or uncertainty!! guess what kinds of typos this guy keeps making!!
another reason why i Do Not like working with this guy is bc it always feels like his tone (both speaking and through text) is condescending, and i can't tell if he's actually being that way or i'm misreading it
