Beyond the fact that I don't have a read on Messi's politics (or many footballers tbh)...
Trump just bailed out his country, which I think many Argentinians would feel at least a little grateful for
Have you considered that sportspeople might just be more conservative than you and may even actively support, or be completely non-plussed by politicians?
Changing rooms are hardly a bastion of unanimous liberal support as e.g. Folau/Pocock might well demonstrate
Well unfortunately this is just your opinion, you're entitled to it, but clearly I'm not alone in my thinking 😁
Irish people are used to living with complexity

Straw poll but other Irish people agree with me!
I'm not equating Ireland with other bits of the UK, I don't think Ireland "belongs" to the UK, nor vice versa...
... but we have obvious longstanding geographical and political links...
... the Home Nations.
Ireland is my home... I'm an Irish citizen 😁
Canada play Scotland, France, and England in Europe, they then host England twice at home
It was the home nations until France joined, long after Irish independence...
"She turned the Windsoreans against us!"
Yeah this is referring to Favre’s “will he won’t he” play saga from 2005-2010
Truly Favre’s successor
France are so (nuclear) based
Kinda Succession over an episode length
World Rugby doubtless will love the USA appearing so high, proselytisers for the 2031 World Cup
Over 750k tickets sold for the next Rugby World Cup...
This is over 25% with over a year before a ball is kicked!
WOW! Dave Rennie is the new All Blacks Head Coach!
I think Ireland is spineless for different reasons 🙃
Ireland is already completely aligned with western interests, and de facto allied with US/UK, particularly the latter who protects your airspace and territorial waters unlike e.g. Switzerland who maintain their own military force.
The degree to which you're a target has not changed.
Iran doesn't have the capability to hit targets as far away as Ireland...
Ireland doesn't have any military presence outside of Ireland...
The idiots on the ground seem content hitting all their immediate neighbours, Irish exposure in this is approximately zero.
Six Nations Wooden Spoons:
Wales: 3 (maybe 4)
England: 0
I was mentioning this elsewhere, but the french have so many more offloads than anyone else, which short-circuits the ruck speed debate a little
Also teams have become better at slowing down their tackles, holding up - then to ground, which increases time between phases, but not directly ruck speed
Mdr 🏉
Welsh match fees were roughly 1/3 - 1/2 last I saw
The Tarucas vs Peñarol game last night was really fun too!
When did Guscott join us?
Labour were doing similar underhanded tactics, you can't take the moral high ground when you're just as corrupt
Bottom ranked Saffa team on the table...
Top ranked Saffa team in the Shield... the URC is great
Red Roses vs Ireland 6N opener will set a new record of over 60,000 tickets sold
There’s the official release, over 60k tickets sold, and still over 6 weeks to fill out even more of Twickenham.
Ticket sales for all nations are going brilliantly, especially Ireland vs Italy at Connacht’s new Dexcom stand
Particularly galling that the Irish are refusing to fly out and play Japan at home…
Come on chaps, you signed up to this scheme so play ball
Tbf at least Scotland *do* play these nations at their home venues…
Fiji is going to generate millions from these games, a collective capacity of 153,193 (Cardiff City, Everton, Murrayfield) is about 10x the capacity of their largest stadium HFC Bank 15.4k
Understand why they’re doing it
