Just finished The Pariah, and it’s a masterclass in narrative voice, a character-driven novel in the purest of terms that doesn’t forget to be exciting and fun to read. Looking forward to diving into his back catalogue!

…that Brett manages to have two first person POVs that each feel distinct. Love these characters, love spending time in this world, love the heart-pounding way he writes action. The Desert Prince gripped me from the start and refused to let go. HIGHLY recommended. 2/2

#Booksky Finally got around to reading @pvbrett.bsky.social’s The Desert Prince, and it may be his best book yet. Brett’s skills as a writer have never been finer in this tale of demon slaying that still has space for a stirring exploration of gender. It’s the mark of a truly talented writer… 1/2

Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed.
