Yeah, exactly. From the best I can tell, it's the difference of like a handful of frames that make this consistent vs not reliable enough to try in a real match. Thanks for even taking the time to read/look into this.

Cool. Like I said, normally I wouldn't say anything, but since the patch notes implied you were trying not to effect his combos, I wasn't sure if you were aware of this routing. Also, sorry for the delayed responses, been busy with work.
I know that's not coming back, and I think that's fine. But it basically relegated this roll > nj.[H] xx S1 xx S2 routing to needing an assist/tag setup to be practical. But this patch, the sequence itself has become incredibly strict to where the routing itself has become impractical. (3/3)
Before the first TW recovery nerf (2 patches ago), this was the bnb for max damage off a 2[H] punish (ex: after parry). You didn't need the 5H; roll into nj.[H] worked. The first recovery nerf made that impossible, so you have to add the 5H now, which I've been told is a 1f link to j.[H]. (2/3)
Yes, technically the routing still works, but it's incredibly hard/tight now, to the point where I don't find it practical. The corner route wasn't affected as hard. A better example solo is midscreen 2[H] xx S1, 3S2, 5H nj.[H] xx S1 xx S2, etc. (1/3)
So finally the question: Were you aware of these routes and that they were affected by the change? It feels like these routes could be saved by giving literally a handful of frames back, and these routes were fun to do, and I miss them lol. (4/4)
I viewed these routes as extremely fun/stylish, and rewarded creativity to find ways to use your assist/tag to set up time to roll and hit nj.[H]. But even some solo routes were made (too) much harder by this (ex: corner 2[H] xx 3S2 5H 2H nj.[H] delay xx S1 xx S2) using the same routing idea. (3/4)
I'm assuming this is matter of defining what constitutes "core". The routing in question is something like (midcombo) roll, nj.[H] xx S1 xx S2 (without having used your reaction), so you get the OTG into the very late tw hit. (2/4)
@pattheflip.bsky.social Hi, normally I wouldn't say anything, but the patch notes specifically said the air Timewinder changes still allowed all of his core combos. However, routing I considered core (high damage + consistent) and more importantly *fun*, was shot by this. (1/4)

The whole deck-selecting and politicking and metagaming etc. etc. is so ridiculous to me. Again, if I wanted to play a game where being in first is a liability and being in second is usually better, I'd play Mario Party or Mario Kart.
As someone who played competitive magic for a LONG time, commander makes zero sense to me. If I wanted to play a 4-player multi-hour non-competitive game, I'd play an actual good board game. Commander has no purpose to me - it's just a bad impression of a board game.

D&D mini figures
I wanted to post something to start my feed that was fun and current...so here's a picture from one of my recent D&D sessions where my players were ambushed by some phase spiders while camping.
They took a while to paint, but I LOVE these trees...they each "open" to a playable flat surface.
