A rather sorry looking pineapple, with stalk, washed up on the sand, with some bootlace seaweed.
Washed up, no doubt, from the shores of the other Island. It being that bit warmer there.
Definitely can be improved on. It'll be interesting to see how this performs with a good vertical antenna on the beach. This was inland (well, as far inland as I can get without meeting the sea on the other side) a flowerpot vertical,cut for 10m. #hamradio #qrp # QrpLabs #qdx
My QDX (high band version) from QRP-Labs has already had a hard life. Tracing a mysterious short led to some pads lifting. Saying that, a few minutes calling CQ, at only 3W, results in the reports below.
Another dioclea reflexa, sea purse, found at Port Grat, Guernsey. Second one this year! I'll never find another!
