Yep
Yep
Ils ont payé beaucoup pour ces conneries quand meme
Tldr : the tools affects the final art piece in subtle ways and saying what would have happened if you had used a different one is hard/ near impossible
That’s not even talking about the choice of language, even your editors affects that.
Coding in rust will not lead you to the same decision as coding in java,c# ,python, lua or even haskell.
Biggest example of this btw is like godot nodes vs unity component, or just ecs vs oop based models
The advantage and disvantage with lower level framework/game engine is that you have to decide all that
Even though it is pretty hard to find good resources about that unity, godot, unreal, and every like framework/game-enginy thingy have a philosophy about how you make a game.
And by using them you will adapt a bit of it.
And that will affect the game.
So would it have been easier? Idk depends on you
It really depends. And is probably impossible to say without creating an alternative timeline where you do it.
The game architecture would probably have been different.
The way you envision what happens at x moment would have been different etc…
The only reason the switch wasn’t retro compatible was physical tbh.
They have basically always done some kind of retro-compatibility
(exceptions are like the gamecube and the switch which both have big changes for the medium of storage of games)
Ok but question (probably will get answered in the following days ?)
But how is that coherent with the flores signing the biggest contract in the league?
Does he think he can just do it with anyone ?
Is he just getting ignored ? (But the kwesi firing seemed caused by him in some ways so ???)
It kinda depends on your setups and what you try to do ?
There are a lot of footgun hanging around in linux so if you just wander hazardly you can easily ends up in really scuffed situations.
(Also anything nvidia related is a pain)
But there are a lot of good distros with good defaults out there
As a starting point people advise linux mint ? But I think anything with fedora + kde is better.
Kde (basically the ui) is the best for people who wants windows but good and has a lot of easy customization options and most OS tools you need are built in.
Kde is the nearest thing to windows (but good), anything with fedora + kde should be good for a begginer
I’ve heard a lot of reason on why it couldnt be on nso (main one is home integration) but the fact that it’s not included with the big online pack is kinda lame tbh
Just say "hey I’m using the modified hybrid mana rule for this deck" and other people should be ok (just bring another deck (like a precon) in the case they’re not)
Rule 0 it and it’ll be fine (it was a big drama like 3/4 months ago in the community)
Ultimately if you think something is cool and the rules are in your way ignore them
(ofc be wary of not going too far the restrictions are still something important)
Rule 0 is here for that exact purpose
Yep and I love them,
The problem is kinda the decentralised part ? It’s just really hard to follow everything and it’s just hard to make it work with how I work ?
Like having one place to check was a big big + from webtoon and that is slowly disappearing
I just wish there was a platform allowing me to keep track of everything with updates that isnt actively going against that goal
It’s such a shame cuz I love the people and there are a ton of genuinely great art on there but the platform is just trying everything to make more money.
The webtoon ui just keeps going in the direction of "we want you to start a new webtoon, binge it and forget about it" and it’s really frustrating
It’s so sad seeing people not see the value in a game to be a collective experience as a kid.
I still remember my mario party 4 games or the time passed playing mario sunshine despite having little to no memory of that time
For ricing kde is probably better than gnome cuz you’ll just have more control more easily. (Though hyprland is probably the best due to it’s nature)
Yep exactly
The art is part of the game anyway.
It’s part of the game design, it’s part of everything.
Ignoring it or using gen ai for it is just a bad idea.
Giving it attention is gonna pay off a lot and make the game a lot more "yours"
Using ai to make your game looks "pro" is such a dumb decision imo. I get it but it’s dumb.
You can achieve a lot with a little bit of effort and there’s no need for experience.
Making your own visual will make the game plainly better too
Oh no that kind of research… no that’s even worse don’t use ai for that please…
Don’t automatises those shit.
You’re just giving away a lot of the part that will make the art yours and will miss out on a lot.
Is talking to people and friend that hard ?
There is value in llms in research about language (that what they’re made for afterall)
For code sorry but ai is either slowing you down if you use it "correctly" or it outputs the worse unsecured code.
(Also it automatises the best part about coding and is just overall alienating)
The use of ai in creative works that are not slop are the exception and far from the rule.
Generating assets for a game for example is 99% of the time slop and the artist taking a pen and drawing would allways be better.
Ai is made to replace some of the most fullfilling things in life and it’s really sad.
It was made to automatically create art and speech.
It is also something that will never really take any skill cuz all the skill it takes can be automated using itself.
So yeah overall this is depressing
Better ? No from all the things I’ve seen about ai it was always worse than if someone. It does it "faster" though.
Also a lot more alienating you’re not creating something/feel and it doesn’t take any skill (cuz any of the skills it takes will be in fine automatised if it’s good)
Either 6-0 start or 0-6 start nothing in between
Do you have an episode on all the things jjm has to fix in this offseason ? I know protecting himself and mechanics are the 2 big ones but iirc you were saying there’s more
