Congratulations Guy!!!
A new preprint!
Inspired by Kleiber's law, we show how growth rate scales with biomass in wheat, and how this scaling connects resource use to reproduction and grain yield in diverse environments.

Thank you Simon!!!
Finally, we examined the shade response across aerial organs in tomato and found that SlPIF mediates it in all tested tissues.
Thanks to Prof. Nicholas Provart @bar-plantbio.bsky.social and his team this data will soon be available in the tomato eFP browser. bar.utoronto.ca/efp_tomato/c...
Surprisingly, we found that, unlike in Arabidopsis, the phyB-PIF module is not essential for thermomorphogenesis in mature tomato seedlings. 🌡️Instead, tomato plants evolve distinct strategies to cope with warm temperatures.
Next, Using tomato pif mutants, we reveal that SlPIF8a is the key regulator of the shade (low R/FR) response, unlike in Arabidopsis, where PIF7 dominates.
We studied the PIF gene family in tomato and uncovered both their conserved and species-specific roles in plant development.
This project began with generating marker lines for the shade response in tomato using the Arabidopsis PIL1 promoter.
The first paper from my lab is now online in @ThePlantCell 🌱 doi.org/10.1093/plce...
