While chilling in the Gold Saucer doing some Gates to get mogtomes today I have been reading the Battletech Universe book and it has been a nice easy read. Perfect as the primer for the setting as intended.
Pity about the spelling mistakes and grammar issues that pop up from time to time though.
Sadly we seem to just be getting the dystopia and not the cyber or the punk. Or the elves, magic and dragons Shadowrun promised.
The books certainly helped teen me deal with some questions I was having with how the world worked. And I didn't feel like I was being lectured at.
Got Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries working in Dosbox last night for fun reasons and alter stream reasons. At first I thought this looks way more texture less and flat than I remember but hey maybe that is nostalgia.

Every time I listen to a Dan Abnett 40K novel I remember why fell in love with the game and setting. Other Black Library authors are good, but hot damn does it feel like Dan writes to my tastes exactly.

I just posted my 2020 playthrough of the Japanese version of Police Quest II on YouTube. If you haven’t seen this one before, it’s pretty wild. For the Japanese release, they redrew all the sprites to give the characters an anime-inspired vibe. It's wonderful.
