Iβve done the Fleegle heel (or strong heel I think for those that knit top down) and itβs a little like that. I need to do it again in a vanilla sock to wrap my head around it though.

Oh I need to get myself this chart! Lighting inside the store always messed with my thread match anyway.
Pairing two sizes of gingham is such a cool look. I love this.

I turned the heel of the other sock this weekend using a βHG Heelβ pattern I came across on Ravelry. So far this one fits a tiny bit better and looks pretty cool. I still love them both though. Definitely sisters not twins as a fun experiment with colorwork and gauge.
Aww thank you!! Iβm halfway through its pair and went a little rogue with a different heel type I havenβt tried before. Fingers crossed I can get this one to fit too. Theyβll be sisters not twins π€£
I like the muddled cotton candy look of the blue and magenta on this sock, but youβre so right. The contrast of the white helps it feel more complete.
Aw thank you! That was a big one for this toe up sock! I even made a version before this that was far too big because I was so worried about it. Excited that Iβm close to nailing my sweet spot and make some fun designs.
Very handy! And a great tip for this pattern. The two color option probably wouldnβt look as nice with the magenta and blue. Iβll remember to check βuglyβ colors in the future too!

Almost done with my first colorwork project, a sock. Not perfect but it fits which was the main goal. For those that have done colorwork, whatβs your favorite color combo advice or color theory? #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky
Beautiful makes! And thank you for the caption. It made me cackle π€£
Thank you! I had to look up the tag to see that it was dyed with Madder root. It can make some lovely reds and pinks based on what I could find.

Jumped right into #FinishItFebruary by finishing this hat Iβve had on my needles for a couple months. Tried to experiment with texture to make a cushy reversible hat from some naturally dyed merino. #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky
I swear I had a matching shorts and shirt out of that exact Recycle fabric as a kid. Love the mix of the two!
I was 4 days early for #ShowMeYourKnits stripes prompt
I love this profile, especially since it highlights the process picturesβ¦and the process, the messy fragmented part of the whole, is where I personally spend the most time with each piece. π§Ά
Oh my heart! Everything you make is delightful! Iβm quickly becoming a big fan after reading your PrintMag article over my morning coffee. Thanks for sharing your art with the world!
I should also say this is the size 30 of the JJ size range and they fit the over 6β tall recipient pretty well out of the envelope with some lengthening at the torso and leg lines.

Trying to decide if I add back pockets to these #CoeTrousers I made for a loved one for the holidays. Today was my first time sitting at my sewing machine in over a month. I finished taking in the sides and hemming the bottom. Love this fun floral I got from #RecreativeDenver. #SewSky #GarmentSewing
I love this! Definitely joining in.
My quilt about womenβs reproductive rights has been banned from all American Quilters Society shows this year. Itβs been part of a traveling show with SAQA. My artist statement is too long for here. Itβs on my website: laurashaw.net/quilts#/your-mother

I keep thinking I need to do a practice fly before my next pair where I take detailed photos or video of the construction.
I really love the fit! The perfect balance of tailored but I can still sit crisscross with my toddler on the floor. They are also much better after she pushed out an update to the pattern. The zipper always trips me up though. Iβve made 3 pairs now and each one is ever so slightly different.
Hi, Iβm Lauren! Nerdy details and pretty guts is my love language. Iβve been a hobby sewist since I was little and have been teaching myself to knit for 3 years. I make and forever mend things for me, my partner, and our 2 kids. I love to follow along with other makersβ creative processes.

Finally added these to the backstitch app too. These are some #DaughterJudy #CoeTrousers that I finished back in November. I wear them as soon as they are clean, so Iβm due for another pair. My favorite part is the muted rainbow topstitching on the side seams and back pockets. π
I made these with a bamboo cotton spandex blend. Probably a little thicker than a typical rayon jersey but they have held up so well. I do have some merino jersey remnants set aside for this purpose but havenβt used them yet. I have worn merino Icebreaker underwear long ago and loved them though.

Hereβs a closeup of them. The top shows burrito method for gusset using an extra layer of the jersey fabric for lining the zorb close to the body. The bottom one shows an exposed seam with just the 4D zorb fabric used as the gusset. I find the top one way more comfortable and less sweaty.
Iβve made two pairs with the 4D zorb. If you have any questions Iβm happy to give my take. They obviously donβt stretch so it helps to think about how wide and long you want your gusset to be. One pair I did a small gusset for lighter days and one pair is a mega gusset for heavier days.
Oh these were your Brierβs for your trip! They look great! Did you like the pattern? Sorry they ended up being a practice pair though.
