Are All You Can Eat restaurants the modern opium den?
White plate with tricolor noodles and tofu
Kids are on thirds so I feel as if this is a true winner... Took the nyt Bolognese recipe and swapped the beef for a bit of bacon and shredded tofu.

You think gas and electric bills are expensive? Have you seen chimneys? They're through the roof!
The difference seems to be how much more main stream the investments are

sam altman tweet: i never took the dead internet theory that seriously but it seems like there are really a lot of LLM-run twitter accounts now
These guys are simply not smart.
Nothing like reading the sky lounge rules 3x and being certain your card lets you in only to be denied because your platinum card is not the platinum card in the rules despite the names being essentially the same. At least I know which card I have that I should cancel
This is like forcing everyone to have the same size monitor so that "above the fold" ads are shown in the same place 🤦♂️
Might default to debit which is usually cheaper for merchants, if your card supports it
I'll accept being top of the ctf leaderboard today since I can attend tomorrow
Sure, but what about the people who are staying to see a little success and can't afford to stop it? It's like spam vs snail mail, lots of things happen via email that would never be scalable at the cost/effort of traditional
Not to mention why should these rights holders have to police this? Ideally we want talented people making content not chasing infinite frauds. Sadly I feel like it will force more and more content behind paywalls since people and corporations don't seem to care

Not the first time I've seen this. I think Kyle Hill did a series on how bad it was in science videos. The incentive is too strong, and it seems even or normal copyright tools are incapable of dealing with it.
You would *hope* that software developer job interviews and software development wouldn't require two distinctly different sets of skills.
The same way touching hot oven air bare-handed won't burn you, but grabbing something out of the same hot oven definitely will. My limited knowledge assumes it's largely about the conductivity that moisture adds.

Text from Hank Green's An Absolutely Remarkable Thing
This line from @hankgreen.bsky.social should be taught in school (along with some ideas on how to manage it).
"The power that each of us has over complete strangers to make them feel terrible and frightened and weak is amazing." Feels like the opposite can also be true as well

Felt sudden but also don't think there was anything else
*Lock In
For example @scalzi.com 's Lockdown feels like it hits differently knowing it was written before COVID (I didn't read it until this year). Ofc some things are timeless, but these days I definitely sense more context in the difference between someone written in 2013 vs 2023
It's interesting, I increasingly find myself looking at the copyright dates on fiction I pickup at the library. Feels like before and after certain times really shape the works even if they're not set in modern settings
