You should join Democrats Abroad in Chapala. They have one of the largest chapters in Mexico. Also, they’ll teach you how to vote from abroad which I assume you will be doing now.

Our DiDi driver the other day was wearing a Trump for president MAGA hat the other day and he obviously spoke English. We were wondering whether he had been deported! I didn’t speak to him. I was appalled. Yes, Republicans seem to take pride in being stupid. Sorry that happened to him. 😕

We'll be spending our Saturday evening attending the annual general meeting of Democrats Abroad Guadalajara. One friend is the chapter president, another who will be speaking is the national DA membership chair. Our chef friends will be catering the refreshments and there will be wine. #GOTVMexico

We couldn’t find a carnicería open yesterday so we’re going to try again today either before or after we have carne en su jugo with our lunch group. Although I’m not too excited about the idea of dining with a group of 40 people, it’ll be good to see friends. #lifeinMexico

Late this afternoon we had a delivery from our favorite local butcher who dropped off half a rack of fresh spare ribs which the hubs is now grilling on the balcony. I believe this calls for an old fashioned or two while we wait for them to cook.

No plans for today other than going to the mercado for fresh fruits, vegetables, cereal and other items and maybe a pork knuckle (chamorro) if we can spot an open carnicería. That’s tough to find on Fridays during Lent. The ceviche restaurants will be packed with diners today, too. #lifeinMexico

Planning a trip to Europe in the fall and finding it hard to find a reasonably priced flight to Spain out of Guadalajara. But I told the hubs I don’t want to go if we have to stay in the US for any length of time to fly from there. I’m in and out on this upcoming visit to the states, y’hear?

I’m hearing Markwayne Mullin as a possible replacement, which explains his constant TV presence lately. Can’t imagine that he’d be any better.

To save a few dollars the hubs booked us on an economy bus which, the driver informed us as we boarded, was not a direct bus to GDL. We drove the back roads and byways stopping in every small pueblo and sometimes seemingly every few yards, and it took us more than 6 hours to get here. #lifeinMexico

Well, shucks. We planned this trip making sure I was back in town for my monthly ladies book club meeting tomorrow, cutting one town from our itinerary to do so. This morning the meeting was rescheduled to next week due to illness. But we're going back to Guadalajara today anyway.
