Black and white photo of Marjane Satrapi with the quote:

"The world is not divided between East and West. You are American. I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same."

🧡 This has to be the funniest Brexit moment yet.

The Brexit-loving brigade spluttering into their cornflakes as they discover The Telegraph has been sold to a German media company.

The irony is spectacular.

There is a big difference between Iran targeting other countries and Iran targeting US bases *within* those countries... a difference that Hegseth doesn't want people think about.

Some of the key science was done by the oil and gas companies themselves. This means the actual solution – fossil fuel phase out - which has been staring us in the face all this time, still represents the surest route to safety. 8/11

Folks in health care: DO NOT FUCKING WEAR THESE-**ESPECIALLY** IN PATIENT CARE AREAS!

If I ever catch a colleague wearing these, I am reporting them to management, the state, whatever press outlets I can, and to the patient & their family.

I do not care who it pisses off. Just fucking DO NOT.

Humanity heating planet faster than ever before, study finds Researchers identify sharp rise to about 0.35C every decade, after excluding natural fluctuations such as El NiΓ±o

The Guardian on our new study, which shows that global heating is significantly gathering speed. Our efforts to overcome our fossil fuel addiction should do the same.

If you've been in survival mode for ages, this lends itself to ways of thinking & patterns of behaviours- habits that help you survive.

Later, if the need for survival goes away, habits can remain- habits that were once helpful can become unhelpful. Important to notice this & be kind to yourself.

I planted loads of these beautiful little Puschkinia libanotica (Lebanon squill) in my own garden, but none have come up. Either they couldn’t cope with my heavy clay soil (probable) or the local wildlife ate them.
Never mind, at least there were plenty flowering at Harlow Carr today to enjoy. 😊
