goddamn is this a breath of fresh air after Allred 2024
@fyrdrakken
I'm into knitting, cats, reading, sci-fi/fantasy, history, archaeology, healthcare, politics, tea, gardening. Deleted my Twitter a few weeks after the Muskrat bought it and went cold turkey on social media for a year or two. She/her.

Different poop - cecal pellets look like clusters of grapes and are meant to be eaten, generally immediately. They're not like the little cocoa puffs that rabbits leave behind. (Hi, I kept bunnies for years.)
There are some most excellent mashups of "Pinball Wizard" and "Folsom Prison Blues" that rely on the fact that the rhythm of the lyrics match. I shared my discovery with some younger coworkers, only to find that neither had heard of either song.
48 years, thankyouverramuch - he died 2 months before I was born, and I'm still only (!) 48.
I believe that's the one I used last year and again this year.
And this is why centuries ago so many people got just one new outfit a year...
No the clocks have not actually changed because they have not shifted Stonehenge yet
chat is it good when the oil lines go vertical
chat come back here
chat stop screaming
I'm also seriously second-guessing the "Bill Hicks" part - that first word could be "Raul" or could be someone miswriting with a sharpie and trying to correct themself by scribbling over letters.
I took a look at his discography to see if it might be a known title but I'm guessing it's a bootleg live show. I thought the second word at the bottom might be "Russia" and now I can't unsee it for what else it might be. (I decipher doctors' handwriting at work.)
half my timeline is just people smarter than I am posting "dawg" "chat is this good" "woof" and/or horrifying graphs
βWow he blocked me because he canβt take criticismβ thatβs correct. This is social media. Youβre just some asshole. I am under no obligation to listen to you tell me what to do. Have a blessed day
I love Econ-positng. Dan Habsmith of Guttermeyer Associates posts the most confusing chart you've ever seen and says "Quite surprising VARG numbers, SPLG index showing movement" and you get the context by one of his mutuals quoting it with "Buy a fucking gun and head for the hills. Right now."
βInternational Womenβs Dayβ ending up on the only 23 hour day of the year.
I am so serious when I say that there is a direct line to be drawn between Evangelism having no meaningful concept of the future save death and American conservatives having zero awareness of or interest in the future consequences of their actions
First part appears to be "Bill Hicks" - if so, this would likely be stand-up comedy rather than music.
There was an episode of Cautionary Tales about a plane crash caused by a baby pilot trained using AI. The plane got into a Situation, the AI shut down because things were too complicated, the baby pilot was used to the AI watching certain indicators for him, the other pilot wasn't paying attention.
Added to wish list - thanks!
Description sounds close enough - adding it to my wish list. Thanks!
NO NO NO YOU DONβT

love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region
My late mother-in-law told me stories about getting married during the Texas Drought of Record, 1952-57, when Dallas was facing evacuation because There Was No Water, Period. Iβve been dreading this happening again in Texas ever since.
That's a lot of research and I have a full-time job and a tendency to lose interest in long-term projects.
Someday I wanna read the alternate history where the Mongols or someone invade Europe just a few years after the Black Death sweeps through.
I remember some podcast or other (I think the Smithsonian's "Side Door"?) did an episode about that, and congressmen asking their staffers about this bill, and some young lady found herself abruptly giving a speech or briefing or some such explaining why this bill was so important for women.
I've had the shift starting at 3am (instead of midnight or 1am) for less than two years, and I'm still used to the time shift being a thing that happens *while I'm already clocked in and working*.
So one downside of a shift starting at 3am is that the disappearing hour was the time allotted in my schedule for showering, dressing, and driving to work. I got to work, saw the time clock said 4 instead of 3, and went, "Oh, shit..."
international Womens day to the best undead mare!
