Journalists defend this stuff with “you need to read past the headline, even the subhead specifies US and Israel,” as if there’s any reason to still follow a convention for writing headlines based on limitations on space in a print newspaper.

“Is it a further sign of dementia or does he have no respect for the troops?”
Back to our regularly scheduled programming: that’s putting it mildly.
The Times should immediately promote the person who wrote this post to be their editor.
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms really captured what makes the dunk and egg novellas so enjoyable, and the changes were mostly for the better (with one exception being the flashback in the battle episode, which was my least favorite of the season).
Final thoughts: season 4 of Industry had some very good episodes and moments, but I found the main corporate thriller plot a little flat. It would be wrong to say it was the worst season, but it was lacking something overall.
Brain damage?
Tantalizing prospect.
I’m sorry for posting something from Ross Douthat, but it’s incredibly funny how casually he admits that trump was never anti-war. I’m sure this was a frequent topic of his columns throughout the past decade.
He’s the exact type of politician journalists love: Republican, elite (but from humble beginnings in middle America), sniveling brown-noser, gossips to them on background.
Also it seems like that poorly-angled photo is from this same press conference a month ago bsky.app/profile/nyti...
I don’t like the NYT privileging Vance’s self-serving attempts to make himself sound like the voice of reason, but at least the editor used an unflattering picture of him. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/04/u...
Information is for liberals
People are mocking Ken for this, but only a newspaper with the resources of the NYT could have gotten to the bottom of this mystery.
I tried to find Brad Delong’s original blog post about “unleashing Chiang” but it appears to be gone. Sad day.
They absolutely should not bring this guy back, but they should talk about how stupid he is.
3 (obviously)
Wow too bad you didn’t know about this before you voted in favor of her confirmation, Tom. www.senate.gov/legislative/...
Update on the key issues from 2024:
1. Candidate age (trump has dementia and is dying)
2. Inflation (trump’s signature economic policy is inflationary tariffs)
3. Support in foreign wars (trump invaded Venezuela to take its leader and oil and, with Israel’s support, started a war against Iran)
I know I’m not breaking new ground here, but Thomas Friedman is remarkably stupid. How can you write this? How can a newspaper let him write this? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I hope everyone at the big law firms that signed deals with trump enjoy doing pro bono work for the commerce department.

This can’t be right. I was assured by people who said trump would be better than democrats for the people of Palestine that trump would not blindly support Israel because he personally hates Netanyahu.
I’m sorry, I was told that trump would impose restrictions on Israel’s warmongering (against all evidence to the contrary), particularly because he personally hates Netanyahu (also against all evidence to the contrary).
Learning that he was not Old Yeller’d when I watched an NBC game earlier this season was such a drag.
Wow, who could have guessed in the year 2026 that donald trump is one of the most deceitful frauds in U.S. history?
If donald trump dies from falling out of a window, I’m willing to revisit a lot of strongly held beliefs.
Are you sure it’s not another white guy?
I hope they bring him back once the show passes the remaining two novellas.
