Did quick undercoat of blue-green and purple to get shadows. Wet blending was the hero on this one. Only did a little layering. Finished with selective brown and black dots for the bumps on their skin.

I highly suggest you give it a try though. Get a small kit of paints and a model, some synthetic brushes to start, and try it. If anything it's a good creative outlet and break from all the shit going on in the world.

Thanks! I have a back log of so many minis and I decided to let loose a bit more. I was so hyper focused on spending hours and hours on a single mini that's just for table top and not display/competition. It's freeing to just focus on readability and color than 100% accurate blending.

Yeah! I just got into it recently to try and give my models some more visual interest and life. I've very much been just base coating, layering, glazing from black primer and introducing more color has definitely given things a different vibe.

For sure. I did the purples and reds to give the idea of "body" having some blood flow to iron underneath it all and they helped with shadows (especially tye purple tones). Like if you look at the sides of the torso. I could have just don't a darker brown but that wouldn't be as interesting
