These events are physically taxing and I have been getting diminishing returns in general. Lately, I've been spreading myself too thin as an artist, so I want to narrow my focus a bit. I still love conventions and events and will continue visiting them as an attendee!

I don't know if I'll get it just bc it's on the switch 2 (I've been playing less console games lately) but it looks promising so far and as a hoenn kid all the water has me super nostalgic!

Finally excited about a new pokemon game after skipping the last 2... especially to finally see a game set outside Europe lol

hourlies (make-up) 2026. 8AM: alarm goes off! (phone beeps with an alarm clock icon.) I'm tired and wanna go back to sleep. Drawing of me in bed. But I'm hungry! Drawing of me opening my eyes dramatically. 9AM: leftover muffins... drawing of me eating a muffin. I think they went a little bad... I stare nervously at the muffin as it gives off little cartoon stink lines. It's probably fine... I think. I sweat a bit as a little breeze comedically blows by

10AM: Gardening! I am excited and hold a pair of garden shears in one hand and a watering can in another. Tiny tomato harvest! A drawing of my hand holding a small basket of tomatoes. Adding paper to the compost bin! I empty out the shredder basket into the bin.

My balcony set up... Tomatoes! Bonus ginger my grandma accidentally planted (at the bottom of the tomato pot). A raised box planter with garlic, kale, accidental sunflowers, miner's lettuce, and nasturtium. An Aloe family featuring a grandma, mom, and 3 babies. Mexican oregano, purslane, wildflower mix, and miscellaneous cacti and succulents.

Haha! Today for me it was dr. Suess and mopane worms!

Me: i have a lot of work to do today *spends several hours reading wikipedia articles*

A black and white comic page. A person sits at the bottom of a whole, endlessly anxiety rambling to themself. A speech bubble yelling “HELP!” cuts through. The person stands up and peers out the hole, seeing a figure lying injured on the ground with people starting to gather around. The person says “Hold on, man! I got you!” Another person in the corner says “Y’all need water? Bandages?”

There are many reasons to help people. One that I think gets overlooked sometimes is: helping others often helps you. So if you feel like shit, don’t flagellate yourself in the dark. Leave your head a little. Extend some kindness. You can’t do everything, but you can do some things.

For sure!! I think i discovered it through a youtube essayist who was also talking about OCD which is what got me interested in it. Glad I finally got around to reading it!

Anyways I would definitely recommend it if you want to learn what it's like to have OCD, I think john green did a great job at capturing a really complex experience in a succinct way. Really like the way the themes all tie together too.

The climax of the book hit really hard for me because when I'm deep in a bad episode I often can't really remember what happened afterwards. Re-experiencing those emotions during a calm/lucid state of mind was really eye-opening.

Even after years of deep introspection, analyzing, journaling, and writing about my OCD it's nice to see other depictions that make me notice parts of it that I missed. And I think reading it from an outside POV gave me a lot more compassion for myself.

I found it to be a deeply realistic and relatable depiction of OCD I haven't quite seen before. I had to put it down partway because I was crying so much. It felt like looking into a mirror and seeing myself for the first time 🥲

I started reading Turtles All the Way Down thinking it was a little cringey and that I was way too old for it and then I ended the book sobbing for several hours afterwards 🥲🫡
