Rediscovered @theresidents.bsky.social & @negativlandland.bsky.social a few weeks ago bc of @marcmaron.bsky.social's great interview w/Peter Conheim. Lovely culture-jam chaos. Reminds why I got into music in the 1st place: Bc life is scary, society is ridiculous, & I don't like being pushed around.
"Write from the heart" doesn't mean only use your "emotional side" - it means write from all that you are. Be smart, be creative, be emotional, be analytical, be sincere, be sneaky - be whatever you really are, & bring that into your work.
Moved recently - it's been really hard to find time to feel mentally organized enough to record new music, much less just sit and play. It's funny how that is. Especially when playing or working on recording would probably be a mentally organizing action on some level.
