Just thinking out loud and holding all of these sometimes-hard-to-reconcile truths at once 🩷

Writing for myself no matter the views feels like a battle some days. That plus comparing my process and output to other writers and placing too-stringent expectations on myself led me to burn out / psych myself out for almost a year.

C. Pressure to write certain things to be seen feels crummy. Pouring your heart into something that many will (and do) scroll right by because it isn’t rated E can feel like having a very tender part of your identity stomped on. Being read and cheered on feels pretty super duper.

B. Sex can be wielded lots of ways (etc etc, I know everyone knows that); reading & writing certain kinds of smut can be a reframing, relearning, & healing process *for me.* And just as much in some ways, so can reading and writing the ways all types of relationships are navigated without sex.

A. Loving all the G/T/M fic recs! STORYTELLING is true magic. I honest to goodness believe that. Sometimes sex is a beautiful (or fun or horny or heartbreaking or silly or joyful, etc) part of that, but lots of times it isn’t or doesn’t need to be.

Uuugghhh, so annoying! Everyone has said thoughtful things, so I will simply agree. Great way to ruin a book for me! 😠
