Don't know how Glasgow city centre sustains another blow like this. The Egyptian Halls on Union Street - which had been scaffolded for decades and become this horrendously cursed bit full of, ironically, weird vape shops - had been slated for renovation. The street was about to get better. Now this.

I don't think older people generally know just how little young people consume trad media. Like, unless they have or work with kids they probably assume it's "less than us but still happening" when it really Isn't.

Thank god. I know it's a massive tradition and people love it but for many years now I've been unable to shop there because the level of disorder just makes me feel physically so uncomfortable, almost ill. Literally could not bring anything home from there. And I'm not, like, some cleanliness freak!
The story I'm about to tell has its origin in a modernist cuboid office block that straddles the M8 at Charing Cross. When I started my investigation, I didn't think it'd take me surfing online in the Bahamas and Barbados or put me on a train to Wester Hailes. I didn't think I'd come across 11-year-old company "directors," talking raccoons, and a self-made candy millionaire. I didn't think I'd be casually threatened shortly before playing an augmented reality go-kart game. And I didn't know I'd uncover a £1million tax bill owed to Glasgow City Council.
