(also, i like the how irl players leaving on bad terms coincided with his fear of abandonment, and disillusion about unconditional trust. we're fucked up about it almost the same amount. his current relation to love is way more complicated and insecure.)

9 years later, parts of him are way more of a power fantasy. he's doing a lot of thinking about how he may already be the person he wanted to become all this time, but on the way he found a whole new set of things to fear for himself.

thought about this lately. with hal, at the beginning, i couldn't stop myself from putting into him that feeling of being suddenly separated from what you love and from making art. hal has a very different relation to art and audience than me, and yet, i keep relating to him all over the place.

i'm unable to even come up with real tangible scenarios about them atm, i'm just lying on the ground and putting them over my face like hot towels and crying over pen sketches in my thumbnail notebook

At some past endgame point in time it's about easing him into the physical relation. But right now Hal is just going on tiptoes trying to sniff out if Uriash would be okay with even the idea of being liked by someone.Trying to stealth himself into something more than the mission. o<--< hnnn

He'll go with the flow for all kinds of relationships, but he really wants to pound the crap out of this guy. I must have made up at least ten versions of their first time at this point.

I love Hal and Uriash cause the romance potential of an entity who's an old man but he just now got a real human body after 700 years is so strong in my head. The sheer fuckin patience Hal has to keep up for the sake of easing him in.

funny to me how i planned this arc to have more hal and ian in it. he's only showed up in the silly drinking minigames we do on downtime. but there's too many npcs around, so he just ends up drunk somewhere in the corner.
