To be blunt the transition is going to take several parliaments. We're already in the transition in reality.
The Green Party is very aware of the need to use a bunch of technologies to transition effectively, and the idea that we're all just nuclear haters is wrong too.

You "think"?
You don't know what would happen and extrapolating from your belief in how others have done it is just a bit odd.
Germany isn't a case study explaining how it would be fine here. It has a different context and history so it's not particularly relevant here.

I don't think you understand the complexity of the issues and how it's impossible to discuss on social media without one group deciding that you're evil.
I've been doing safeguarding in various contexts for over 20 years and the maximalist positions taken on social media are unhelpful and divisive

The other aspect? I can guarantee to you that you don't have all the information or enough context to know what happened and why.
Not saying mistakes aren't made in the party, but you're framing is unhelpful at best.

You think the policy is to just ditch nuclear without replacing it?
Do you think Green Party members are stupid?
Good grief. For reference, I've been working on the energy and utility transition for several years at regulatory level in the UK. I've also been a Chair of a community energy org.

Alongside decarbonisation of the grid and reduction as much as possible of emissions from the energy system.
The Green Party probably has the most comprehensive energy policy and one of the most coherent and in line with dealing with the climate crisis.
It was the other part that's odd

So very glad that Italy are showing their depth now. They are a very very good rugby team.

And the idea that it's all the Corbynites... Nope.
They all followed him to Your Party.
We've got a lot of young people, a lot of the more dissatisfied centre left ex-Labour, and many many people who never got involved in politics at all.
Teaching kids climate change for 30 years has an effect.

As a former local Green Party Chair, I can say that the party has significantly changed in recent months simply because of the membership tripling in 6 months.
Many ex Labour members and supporters have joined.
He's literally being rude to thousands of people who supported Labour until recently.

The Labour rhetoric towards the Green Party is both incredibly rude and stupid at the same time.
The party has just tripled in size in 6 months and many (not all but many) are ex Labour members.
It's like he hates people that used to vote for Labour.

I'm watching the 6 Nations on ITVx and I'm using streaming.
It keeps on buffering. It's only ITVx that does this.
It's not the WiFi it's connected by network cable. It's not the internet connection. My broadband is 500mb up and down.
It's ITVx

I was telling highly respected researchers they were wrong on the future of data centre energy use 8 years ago at least.
I don't like being proved right.

I was at the forefront of serverless. I knew 10 years ago that technologies were being created that allowed ordinary techies to do hyperscaling at very low cost.
What makes generative AI so bad is that it's based on GPUs not CPUs and the inherent energy required to run them.

Want me to tell you how pre generative AI the pre eminent data centre researchers were all incredibly confident that global data centre energy use was going to go down... because servers and data centre technology were so much more efficient?
I kept on telling them they were wrong.

It's pragmatic for data centres to run on cheaper energy.
In many ways the US system fails in energy policy because energy policy is devolved to the States.
The WH can do very little apart from incentivise approaches. But that takes years to come through.
This is a failure of decades of policy.

Historically cloud companies who ran data centres were pivotal in many renewable energy schemes for many years.
The problem here is generative AI requires so much more energy to deliver the services. Without it, the industry would be reducing energy usage.

The Greens are focusing on "Hope" and that's great... until it isn't.
It's easy to be opposition.
It's hard to be in power.
I genuinely think the Green Party needs to have some hard conversations about the economy.
Not to placate the political opponents, but to solidify thinking beyond ideology
