The 3 Israeli prisoners get headline photos, names reported (multiple times), family member names and comments.

No photo, names, comments for any of the 183 Palestinian prisoners. No headline attention to their emaciated and beaten state. No mention of Israel stopping food from entering Gaza

I disagree too. I think property speculators have to much power over communities. I think we should shift the balance. We should strengthen localism where local communities get to shape how they live.

By suspending all visas for Israeli soldiers to enter New Zealand the government would be responding to our solemn responsibilities under the Genocide Convention to ‘prevent and punish’ the crime of genocide.

All these red flags for genocide have been visible for months but your government is still giving the green light to those responsible for war crimes to enter New Zealand.

Finally last month the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defence minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

United Nations officials, the International Court of Justice and now Amnesty International have all variously used the term genocide to describe the actions of the Israeli Defence Forces in Gaza where over 45,000 People – mostly women and children – have been slaughtered.

Israelis coming to New Zealand face no such requirements. As well as the working holiday visa, since 2019 Israelis can enter New Zealand for three months without needing a visa at all. This visa-waiver is used by Israeli soldiers today for “rest and recreation” from the genocide in Gaza.

You will be aware of media reports of Israeli soldiers being denied visas to enter Australia after being required to fill in a 13-page form to determine if they had been involved in war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
