Untrue - the Convention provides both for the possibility that protection might cease to be necessary (ie the cessation clause: refugee status ends if there's a change in circumstances) AND the possibility it might need to be long-term (ie references to facilitating citizenship of the refuge State)

This is an excellent and extremely informative listen for anyone, like me, whose understanding of Iran and of Middle-East dynamics in general is fairly superficial.

This is a big reason European states are getting drawn in. Iran can keep chucking drones at Gulf states for longer than they can shoot them down.

It tells you something about the disorientating rate of change underway that nobody is particularly shocked that a head of state has been assassinated by other states, something which has *never happened* in the modern era. Which is illegal under US law. Shed no tears for Khamanei, but still.

obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)

Loving that the party whose slogan is ‘Family. Community. Country’ are now claiming that they lost because of ‘family voting’.

Gorton and Denton by-election result: GRN: 40.7% (+27.5) REF: 28.7% (+14.7) LAB: 25.4% (-25.3) CON: 1.9% (-6.0) LDEM: 1.8% (-2.1) Green GAIN from Labour.

Expect weeks of "family voting" rhetoric from Reform. They're out of the gates on it already.

It mustn't be allowed to wash because look at the scale of that win.

Tactical voting has obviously played a massive part.

Gorton and Denton rejected Reform and its hateful agenda.

These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.
