Same here. Also, when I was buying, there were loan offers that started a 5%, but jumped to 7.5 or 8% after 2 years. “You can just refinance after 2 years when rates come down. Don’t worry!” I knew that was a bad gamble!

This is what I did, but most advise against it because the assumption is that you’re better off refinancing sooner once rates drop (I think). I was lucky to have much more in savings and my bigger priority was making payments work with my monthly income.
