For 20 years, I have constantly heard innovation in tech was the future. I actually think the future sits with people. And this future, one that isn’t maniacal about the past, gets direction from the theories, tools, and actions developed within field of sociology. Not tech.

Innovate = return for shareholders. Is it innovation if what’s innovated is for the few? Is it innovation if what’s innovated is abandoned because it will reduce profit? Is it innovation if it streamlines a service by taking your livelihood? US business does not innovate, it extricates… your wealth.

HHS is canceling $600 million in CDC grants for HIV and STD prevention in CA, IL, CO, and MN that were marked for state and local health departments, hospitals, universities and non-governmental organizations. These cuts conspicuously correspond to areas of DHS operations as well.
