Our final #TCC2025 keynote, delivered by Prof. HΓ₯kan JΓΆnson and Prof. Tove Harnett, guides us to escape βcognitive trapsβ and rethink how we view older people and their rights through a βdisability lensβ. They frame older care receivers as rights-holders, not just collaborators in care systems.

Day 2 at #tcc2025 π‘ Care is never neutral β itβs relational, emotional, political.
Tom Shakespeare: rights arenβt enough. Care is mutual & affective.
Innovation = cuts?
Integration = bureaucracy?
Digital care = still emotional labor?
We need to reimagine care. More thoughts in my LinkedIn.

So great to have @tomshakespeare.bsky.social as keynote speaker. He reminds us one key aim as social care researchers: to foster ideas that shift from medical to social models to better understand and shape policies on dependency β through complexity, materiality and relationality.

To sum up the first day of #tcc2025.
Care work β whether AI in nursing homes, family caregiving, or emotional labor β needs visibility, support & ethical attention. Not just tech, but real human understanding for those doing this heavy, often unseen work.
