After years of trying to go through every early-2010s psychedelic music video imaginable, convinced that maybe it was some alternate version of the Time to Pretend music video, I took a random guess and looked through the early Animal Collective vids and lo and behold it's one of their best songs
All I remembered were people, potentially kids, dressed up in some kind of animal outfits and then all of a sudden there were absolutely insane amounts of flashing colors and then eggs being cracked open with dyes getting mixed into the eggs in this overwhelming sequence of sound and just... EGGS!
Finally solved my own lost media search after YEARS of searching - I remembered in my sophomore/junior year of high school I was in the journalism classroom with all the Mac desktops and some older student put on this crazy psychedelic music video that I'd never seen before and it rocked my world
