thanks so much! i used blockbench/blender quite a bit with the texture variants mapped to the sides of cubes in random layouts so i could pinpoint and fix any tiling issues, but i remember it was an awful lot of trial and error!

experiments with multi-tile variants to reduce 'gridding'
all permutations tile seamlessly, each tile is 20 pixels^2
