An amazing effort to encourage a lifelong love of reading for our city’s children.
Support staff are the rarely-heralded workforce that keeps schools going – teaching assistants, caterers, attendance advisers, technicians – all play a vital role in our city’s schools.
That’s why I wanted to bring together school support staff to discuss opportunities and challenges.
Was great to visit the Mary Rose Academy. Publishing the Schools White Paper and the consultation on SEND is not the end of the conversation for the Government.
That’s why I will continue to listen and engage with parents, children and schools to ensure every child succeeds and thrives.

So pleased Landport is being awarded £20 million for the community through the Government’s 10-year Pride in Place programme.
Ahead of the first wave of funding, it was good to walk round the areas with others involved in ensuring the programme is a success.
