Yes, Iโve got all three. Can never remember which one I like best.
Abercrombie Quartet cover.
Now playing: John Abercrombie โAbercrombie Quartetโ (ECM/Warner Bros.), 1979. Picked this up at my neighborhood store, Art Sound Language. Prefer Abercrombie without a keyboardist (too much competition for chordal space). But this is a good one if you see it. #jazzsky
The cover of โIn on the Kill Takerโ by Joe Gross
Had to give @joegross.bsky.socialโs Albini chapter a re-read. #BookSky
Yes. Always.
Need this. Now.
Brilliant solution.

Cover of Mark Charigโs โPipedream.โ Also features Keith Tippett and Ann Winter.
Vinyl reckoning: Just got this in the mail thanks to eagle-eyed @sidsmith.bsky.social. Ogun 1977. Trumpeter Mark Charig playing in a church with Keith Tippett on organ and Ann Winter vocalizing. Been looking for this for years. #JazzSky

If you like "the Singularity," I suspect you will dig this. Haven't read them, but the short stories are supposed to be his best stuff.
Front cover of โThe Stronghold.โ Art depicts mountains.
Just finished: Dino Buzzatiโs โThe Strongholdโ (NYRB paperback). A.k.a. 1940โs โTartar Steppe.โ Published the same year Mussolini entered WWII. Elegiac Italian novel about imminence and the cyclic nature of time. #BookSky
Sonny Rollins plays the solo in the Stones song.
Been thinking about this a lot lately.

All-white front cover of Harold Buddโs โPerhapsโ double LP.
Vinyl reckoning: Harold Budd โPerhapsโ (Root Strata), 2007. Peaceful solo piano for chaotic times.

The goddamned six o'clock news makes sure I keep thinking of World War III
Bill Frisell trio at Blues Alley. Photo by John Rickman.
First pass through Bill Frisellโs new string-heavy sextet record, โIn My Dreamsโ (Blue Note). Spoiler alert: itโs beautiful. #JazzSky
Say "welcome" to your new overlord.
Front cover of โExpansionsโ
Back cover. Lineup features: Tyner on piano, Gary Bartz on alto and flute, Woody Shaw on trumpet, Wayne Shorter on tenor and clarinet, Ron Carter on cello, Herbie Lewis on bass, and Freddie Waits on drums.
Vinyl reckoning: McCoy Tyner โExpansionsโ (Blue Note/Toshiba). 1985 reissue of this 1969 setโfeaturing, among others, Gary Bartz, who was still with Tyner when I saw him in 2016. Tynerโs got a real circa-โ69 edge here that is, albeit not as mind-bending as the cover, plenty radical. #JazzSky
Perfect sound forever!

Thanks, I've been looking for a copy in the wild for decades.
Agreed, that was an exciting box set.
Underrated!
Love Weejuns!
When I was a kid, Debbie Reynolds lived in the same Virginia city as me. I donโt remember anyone running into her, but you could see her hilltop house from where I took guitar lessons and thumbed through Musician magazine.
I played it this morning, too. Fucking incredible.
